I love the concept and how this works...when it's working.

However, the battery won't hold a charge longer than a couple of days, even when not in use. Which is annoying - when I want to turn a light on, I want to *turn the bloody light on*. Not rip out my fingernails trying to access the charge socket (another complaint), plug it in for a couple of hours, and *then* use it before it needs another electrical "fix."

And did I mention that in order to charge it, I have to spend several minutes of challenging, nail-torquing labor prying loose the waterproof cover to access the charger socket?

Not happy with this, for the above reasons.

It's appropriate to begin listing good qualities about any product you purchase first(?) maybe, in this case I'll disclose that I am presently surprised by the quality of the remote provided. It is perhaps one of the most responsive remotes among the lower-end RBG LED products that employ this remote form factor and layout. The orb itself it decently bright, I would prefer brighter, and while intended to be utilized without the AC connected it certainly still works with the AC constantly inserted, though the product doesn't lay flat which is disappointing but really shouldn't impact your decision of whether or not you should purchase this product. Unless of course you were planning on never removing the AC (like me).

Besides that trivial (or not) disappointment its still a great product and certainly if you have affinity for the sphere like form factor and a budget allowing to spend around $30 I'll recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Neat but ours don't hold a charge, February 4, 2017

My boys loves these and customer service was a pleasure to work with. Only downside, which has proven to be a fairly significant annoyance, is that despite charging a full day before initial use, they don't hold a charge longer than an hour. We have to plug them in to charge every night just so they can use them during our book and bedtime routine in the evenings. Plugging them in wouldn't be a problem except they can't sit upright while plugged in.
