1.0 out of 5 stars This book is damn near sentence free: best of luck., November 20, 2017

I've made it to page 23. It's been a struggle. I'm ready to throw up. The book is a series of phrases, back to back, crap like, "The same as with any data and parameters you send to the blockchain." The author has something in mind and tosses out bullet points, disguised as sentences, that are intended to support or back up what he has in mind. I'm pretty sure this book is unedited, It's nothing but raw, rambling, stream of conscience, vague crap (so far). There's no way it's going to improve (unless friends familiar with sentence structure were enlisted to provide upcoming sections). I bought this to learn something about "blockchain". If it sucks like this for another 17 pages it's headed to the recycle bin. Buyer beware. There have to be better books on the subject..

4.0 out of 5 stars German to English Doesn't Always Translate to American, September 30, 2017

This review is from: Ethereum: Blockchains, Digital Assets, Smart Contracts, Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (Paperback)
This is a book I needed. It goes way past most of the the "intro" books that are available online. I learn best from books rather that tutorials on-line or otherwise. I would most certainly recommend this book,
BUT...
I am not fluent in German, however I studied German in high school and university. I should say here I am an American 3rd generation and I speak American .I have a BA in English. As such, I was required to take 18 hours of a "foreign language." Mostly I spent my time translating German literature/documents from German to English.
I am speculating that this book was hurried to publication, written in German, and IMO translated by a computer. Why is this a problem? It is a problem because there are so many grammatical ambiguities from the German to the American English dialect that many sentences are either incomplete or scrambled syntactically in such a way that makes it difficult to understand. Now, if this was a work of fiction it... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars I'd give it 6 stars if I could, A must have for anyone interested in the crypto world., July 14, 2017

This book is great!! I have been investing in the crypto market for over a year. I want to make a career as a consultant in the near future. I thought I was pretty savvy as to what it all meant. BUT I was wrong.. Ethereum is so important but This book covers everything and is so well written that even a newbie will be able to make an educated decision if they want to invest or not. Even more important, any investor needs to understand what is happening when prices fall, or what ICO events mean, block chain.etc etc.. This book is so detailed and easy to follow that I just bought another for a friend. There are times when you can tell the author is struggling to explain in simple terms and I need to read until I get where he is coming from but over all this will be my bible as I progress in the learning curve. Plus he provides his email address, welcomes any suggestions as to make the book better. He has redone it a few times since the original printing...Thank you Henning
