5.0 out of 5 stars love it with a caveat, November 4, 2016
This review is from: iRobot Roomba 650 Robot Vacuum with Manufacturer's Warranty (Misc.)
Previously my wife and I read the post about someone’s Roomba trailing through dog poop. We laughed and didn’t think another thing about it.

Let me tell you how yesterday went. While at a training for work I receive a text message from my 10 year daughter. “Dad, please call me the floors are dead.” I assumed that auto correct had gotten involved and was trying to figure out what it had corrected from. Also in the back of my mind I assumed our 14 year old lab Dalmatian mix had passed away, only to be found by our daughter. I attempted to call my daughter with no answer and then called my wife. My wife had received the same text and had talked to our daughter.
Our lab is fine, our daughter was not. It appears that during our absence our 85 pound Band-dog mastiff had a bit of stomach distress. This in its self isn’t a big deal as pet owner we understand that periodically “poop happens.” What caused our very articulate 10 year daughter to become stymied was the... Read more

Wow! What can I say. Buy it. I laughed so hard at some of the reviews about this product. All these idiots calling their robots names. Good grief. After 2 days on the job my wife named it "George" She didn't even read any reviews on it. It just got named. lol. I gave in and started calling it by name as well. My son came home from college and noticed that the rear of the vacuum collects the dirt. Somehow we now all ask each other if we checked Georges "butt" before we send him on another tour of duty. The reason you have to check the "butt" is hair builds up on the filter after each use and lowers the suction power a lot. We wash the filter every week and tap the filter on the garbage can each cleaning.

So keep his butt clean and its all good! Now I have to say George is now part of the family. He brings us treasures in his dust bin all the time. It's actually interesting to clean him out to see what he caught. The first few runs he... Read more

We just got our iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot for Pets. It was simple to setup and charged in about two hours. We have run it once downstairs and upstairs.

THE PLAN
The plan is to run it during the day upstairs and to run it at night downstairs. The first problem we noted is that the schedule only seems to allow one time per day. This is ok since we have to carry it upstairs for the day runs. So, we just start it as we live in the morning. When we return, we put on the charger and let it clean at 2AM downstairs.

OBSERVATIONS
The upstairs (approx. 1000 sqft) is a combination of wood floors, tile in the bathrooms, scatter rugs (bath style and oriental). Roomba did a good job covering an awkward area. We captured a full bin of hair from the dogs. The only problem is that it got caught in... Read more
